THE CLINIC

🤍 Introduction

Welcome to The Clinic. Come in and know you can rest your weary head and heart.

This is a pixieled NPC post for players.

The clinic is primarily meant to be player run, but Chilyoja is available and offers both magical healing at a high cost and special rewards upon completing quests for them. But worry not, they have a number of other items and services on offer for repayment in IOUs, helping around the clinic, and for trade.

Once every 2 months you can reach out to either NPC Requests or comment here for a short thread. Threads will be rarely longer than 5 to 10 comments from the NPC. They are quite busy and often away on house calls.

Additionally, we've provided a handwave option for discussing interactions with Chilyoja. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via FAQ or Mod Contact.

Most importantly: Have fun! Your character can become apprentices to Chilyoja or work in the Clinic itself as healers, doctors, nurses, so on. This is here primarily for world building, so run wild with it. You are welcome to assume NPC interactions, run the clinic, treat people, or pretty much anything else in your own logs and posts. You don't need our permission. Unless you burn it down.

🤍 Building

Upon entering the front of the clinic, the Adopted are welcomed by the tinkling of a chime and a bouquet of floral and herbal scents, looking around they will see a number of flowers, herbs, and other medicinal ingredients hung up and laid out to dry. There are a number of shelves with potent healing salves, potions, remedies, and basic first aid.

The room is always the perfect temperature and well lit and welcoming. If they're not busy, Chilyoja will come greet the Adopted themself, if not then one of the Adopted working here or an apprentices will instead.

The doves in the room are friendly and observant. Always watching.

To the right of the main room is a small area dedicated to Chilyoja's crystal collection, which contains a vast number of different crystals and stones in an absolute rainbow of colors. The vast collection has something for everyone and every need.

The crystals here are regularly cleansed and charged by moonlight for max potency. Chilyoja will be delighted to talk about them with whomever takes interest and will help find the right one for any need.

It takes a moment to realize that the snowy owl in the room is very alive and aware of the Adopted near her. She stays on her high perch, out of reach.

If the Adopted have come to be treated, be it magically or alternatively (acupuncture), they will be led into the backroom. Here, there are a couple clean beds and more herbs/flowers drying or being prepared for medicine on work benches.

While in many ways less welcoming than the front room, it is no less fragrant or pleasantly warm. The keen eyed will see old blood stains that couldn't be scrubbed from the wood, collections of strange parts, and a number of restraints and odd, almost torturous looking devices. Pay it no mind, Chilyoja is far too pleasant and gentle for such things.

Out back, just behind the building where it merges with the forest, is a beautiful garden. There are potions hanging from trees to absorb sun or moon light, paths of stone that cut through an array of rainbow flowers and herbs, leading to a beautiful circular grove. All around are white birds: egrets in the small pond, doves in the branches, and seagulls relaxing. They are all friendly and watching. There's something unsettling about how they seem to perceive the Adopted.

Here, Chilyoja performs rituals with their crystals, their medicinals, and other mysterious events that the Adopted aren't welcome to. Please, enter the circle, rest and relax. Just make sure to return to your courts before the last of the day's light fades.

Magical Healing

These interactions need to discussed, be it through RP or handwaving. Chilyoja will want to agree upon a cost before performing magical healing or will make a deal where they get to name the cost after. The cost can be a number of things: a memory, the love of something or someone, an ability/power, body parts, a pride, etc. These can be temporary (week to months) or permanent.

Please reply to this comment for discussing handwaved interactions with Chilyoja. This can include working at the clinic, discussing becoming their apprentice and what the average day of that looks like, being a frequent customer (be it trade for goods or injury), healing magic without the thread, visiting the garden often, discussing a special interaction of any kind, etc.

This is completely optional, but getting magical healing from Chilyoja does come at a cost that needs to be discussed, so feel free to use this space for that.
